Well, not new of course. It’s been around for a while, obviously. It’s popular in India as a spice that goes into food, the base ingredient for curry. But did you know it is so much more than that? It has cured a nasty staph infection of mine and a few family members (MRSA, to be exact), colds, headaches, etc. All of that, and I still hadn’t considered adding it to my daily regimen, instead i’ve only thought of using it on an as needed basis. Until I heard that it helps with weightloss and maintaining your weight. Wow! All of that from this? [SinglePic not found]
The title says it all! I’m definitely not the person I used to be. Since becoming a Beachbody coach my whole life is different. I have never been so passionate about being healthy and getting fit, and not to mention i’m more fit than I have been in my entire life. My waist has never been so small (I have Shakeology to thank for that) and my energy has never been so high (also Shakeology + exercise)! The drive I have only gets stronger day by day as I see the people i’m helping as their attitudes about themselves are changing and soon their bodies will follow suit. They not only benefit, but their kids benefit, spouses, grandkids, etc. etc. This truly is the best journey i’ve ever embarked on! My “journey to a rockin’ body” has turned into my “journey to help people get their own rockin bodies”, and it feels better giving people the tools and motivation to accomplish that goal. The same goal i’m accomplishing myself for the very first time.
FEELS GOOD!
I will be posting a progress picture soon, but my mother in law has my camera at the moment. So until then, I leave you with a picture of my family taken on Friday!
[SinglePic not found]So two days ago I engaged in the most intense workout of MY LIFE!! Have you ever heard of plyometrics?! Have you ever DONE plyometrics?! JEEZ that stuff is intense. I went HARD for about 15 minutes and then felt like I was going to pass out! Anyway, I feel like i’ve done an outstanding job (for me at least) of keeping up my workout momentum. It’s like every day I workout it just gets easier and easier and it makes me feel better and better! 6 months ago you would never hear me say anything like that. I was practically allergic to exercise! Today’s workout was hard and I broke a MAJOR sweat, but it wasn’t anything like the plyo. Luckily I have Shakeology. I really don’t think I could make it through a tough workout like that without it.
Anyway, I took a progress picture today but there’s not enough noticable change to actually post, even though I notice it!
Next week, I promise.
The boys spent the night at their grandma’s last night (my mother in law) so I got to have a girl’s night out with a friend. Dinner and a movie! ::sccrrreeeeeccchhh::: (that’s my verbiage for a screeching halt) Yes. I said dinner! And at Chili’s nontheless. OH RELAX, I had the “margarita grilled chicken” from their guiltless grill menu. It is DELICIOUS, I must say.

After dinner, we went to see “Water for Elephants” on it’s opening night, and it was AMAZZZIIINNNGG! Best movie i’ve seen since “The Notebook”. They are actually very similar in a lot of ways. I would recommend it (as a chick flick) to anyone who loves a good tear jerker (with a semi-happy ending of course).
Ok…so…down to business. I had a GREAT workout this morning (nothing like sweating in the morning!), which lead me to do the dishes I have neglected to do for a couple days now, which lead me to get other things done (THANK YOU SHAKEOLOGY!). Man, I wish I had time to exercise every morning but unfortunately the baby doesn’t always allow it! Speaking of the baby….

He is starting to not look like a baby anymore (he will be 1 June 27th). Those teeth are something else! (I am still nursing, so they really ARE something ELSE)
Anyway, have a great day!
Remember: motivation is what gets you started, habit is what keeps you going.
So for the past couple of mornings I’ve had to really fight hard for my workout! Usually in the morning I drink my Shakeology, take Gabe to school, come home and put Aiden down for a nap, workout and then make my coffee and read my Bible until he wakes up. BUT, Aiden has been refusing to stay down for his nap! (the story of my life) Now, it would be SO easy for me to just say “oh well, baby’s up, no workout today!” but I WANT this. I mean I REALLY want this! I have NEVER looked good in a bathing suit (or clothes for that matter) and I’m determined to this summer! I don’t care what it takes. So i’ve decided to move today’s workout to the 2pm nap…while Gabe is home. We’ll see how this works out (i’ll keep ya posted!).
So yesterday was Karate. Gabe improved on his side kick and his punch. Before yesterday his punch looked more like a “knock” rather than a punch. But he’s got it now I think.

(the picture is not from yesterday, it was from his last class but I couldn’t find a good one from yesterday)
I made a great dinner last night (even Gabe thought so, and that is rare). Basically it’s seasoned meat (seasoned with Adobo), onions, garlic, yellow and green bell peppers, yellow rice and black beans. And it is YUM. This is Nick’s plate, of course. And the meat doesn’t look as great as it tasted (probably should have browned it before I put anything else in the pan to give it more flavor and color)!

It’s about time to show you guys my progress i’ve made this week via picture. I recon that is on the menu for Sunday (also weigh in day).
I will leave you with this (something I made up today).
“There are a lot of snakes out there, so stay on the path and don’t tread in the grass. “
Hallmark should hire me. I’m sure lots of people would benefit from my awesome sayings. “Happy birthday. There are a lot of snakes out there…” ok maybe not. Scratch that idea.
Ta-Ta!

So I feel like I am getting somewhere with my workout! I am seeing results, so i’m actually motivated to do them and I’m having fun WHILE doing them. This wasn’t the case for the past few days, but I know from past experience that if you keep pressing on thru the hard times, once you see those results you WILL want to workout and you WILL enjoy doing it! The hard part is keeping at it, but it’s definitely a lifestyle change and I’m in it for the long haul this time. I can’t use “I have 2 kids” as an excuse any longer, because look at all the hot moms out there that are hot not because they have “good genes”, but because they decided to take their health and fitness seriously. Nick even noticed my arms last night, saying he’s never seen them like this before (on their way to being defined and toned). Same with my waist. Whoop Whoop!
Anyway, dinner last night was DELICIOUS, so I thought I would share that with you. The most AWESOME line of meatless products (i’m sure all my carnivorous friends just stopped leaving) called “Gardein”. Well, I made the “chik’n scallopini” last night and even the kids loved it. I put those bad boys on the forman grill and paired it with a salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, kraft asian toasted sesame dressing: the best dressing ever) and I felt really good about it. It was also aesthetically pleasing.
[SinglePic not found]Well, we are off to Karate again!

Didn’t get a workout in last night…or the night before. UGH. I had some pretty good excuses cooked up, but then I thought “who am I fooling?”. Desperate Housewives is on, husband is home, kids are awake, laundry, etc. Oh well. I had a great workout this morning despite my failure last night! I got my blood rushing, heart pumping, and now my mood is set for the rest of the day. I think I like working out in the morning more than before bed. It definitely makes it hard to fall asleep, that’s for sure!
Something I wonder….does anyone else out there have a problem working out at home when your husband/significant other is home? I feel like all eyes are on me and I am being judged or something. Maybe it’s because I’m not comfortable with my body yet, or maybe it’s because Nick is a huge workout buff and feels like he knows his stuff better than I do (I’ll show him when i’m all transformed and LOOKIN’ GOOD!). Hmm…not sure what the reason is, but I do know that I have the strongest urge to rush him off to the gym when my workout time is approaching!! The funny thing is, I don’t have a problem with Gabe (my 4 year old) watching me workout, even though he pokes my stomach and tells me I have a “fat tummy”! Talk about a blow to the self esteem. Kids are brutally honest!
Well, time to go get the little one up from his nap, pick the big one up from preschool, and then it’s off to Karate! HIIIYYYAAA!!
I started drinking Shakeology a couple of weeks ago and I already feel amazing. I have more energy than I have since I can remember, my mood is better, increased regularity, etc. I have cut down from 4 cups of coffee in the morning to one (which is HUGE for me). It curbs my cravings for sweets. It is supposed to help with weightloss and all that jazz, but I haven’t been using it long enough to tell. I’m still losing weight from changing my diet, so who knows if i’ll ever be able to tell, but I have heard amazing weight loss reviews from people who are using it. I thought it was a little expensive at first, but realized two things. #1. You can’t put a price on your health (at least not one this cheap) #2. $3-$4 for a healthy meal AIN’T bad in my opinion (yeah, I said ain’t…helps to get the point across!).
If you’re interested, check it out! I promise you won’t regret it.
[SinglePic not found]So…to quickly give you the “low down” on myself….
I am a 23 (almost 24!) year old stay at home mom of two boys (4 year old and a 9 month old) with a flabby tummy and a serious case of grandma booty. Hehe, just kidding…it’s not THAT bad (and most grandma’s these days are lookin’ pretty hot thanks to plastic surgery, Dr. Oz, and other available resources), but it’s not like it should be. I’ve recently lost 10 lbs on Weight Watchers but I feel like a sack of skin with that stomach pooch that will NOT LEAVE (which i’m sure a lot of mom’s can relate). So I am documenting my journey to a “rockin’ bod” (which i’ve never really had) to keep me accountable and motivated!
The workout: Shakeology “the workouts” get it here and workout with me, just follow the shop tab!
The diet: Shakeology in the morning which gives me AMAZING ENERGY and helps me with my mood ALL DAY. (i’ll explain a little further about this in another post click here if you can’t wait) Regular food the rest of the day. Mostly things naturally low in fat (trying to stay away from “frankenfoods”) and lots of whole grains.
I will post a picture as soon as I recover my camera from my tots….
So anyway, my first workout was last night and it was awesome. I don’t think I realized how out of shape I was until I was half way into the workout and needing my inhaler (yes, I use an inhaler and wear glasses, so what!!). Fun. It was worth it though because I feel great this morning. Can’t wait til my workout tonight! Maybe i’ll get brave and post a video one day soon….just maybe!
Stay tuned folks!!!!!!!!
Find out how to work at home by getting healthier and helping people do the same!
Update…here is the before picture. I didn’t have enough courage to post my backside, but I will include it when I get to a better place in my journey!! LOL.
